Genie+ is a paid skip-the-line service at the Disney theme parks that costs about $30 a day. I always think it's worth it to get Genie+ because of how many attractions use the service. Being able to skip multiple long lines every day is a big time saver for my family. For us, that meant splurging on Genie+, a paid skip-the-line service that works at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Two-day admission to the theme parks already costs over $300 a person, and on our two-day vacation, my family spent an extra $180 ($30 a person per day) on Genie+.

The number one upgrade I pay for on any cruise is a balcony cabin. I like being about to hang out on my private balcony when I want some quiet time. I never buy drink packages since I don't drink enough to get my money’s worth. I like to have a nice cocktail or two, but I don't drink enough for a whole package. Plus, the packages really vary across companies — some cruise lines give you 15 drinks a day while others have unlimited options. Unfortunately, on every cruise I've been on, everyone (of legal drinking age) in the same stateroom has to make the same decision on drink packages.
